  • Your credit card number is never stored in Samsung Pay. When you add your card to Samsung Pay, it is assigned a device account number, and when you make a purchase, Samsung Pay uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code. So your card number is never stored on your device or on Samsung's servers, and when you pay, your actual card number is never shared by Samsung with merchants.
  • If you ever need to make a return, you might have to provide the last 4 digits of your device account number. You can find your device account number on the card details screen in your Samsung Pay app.

  • Samsung Knox "tokenization" adds an extra layer of security by creating a unique randomized set of numbers to be used at each new transaction, so your real card number is never used.
  • Samsung Pay does not store your personal/payment information on a Samsung server or on your device. Also, your full details are never shared with merchants when you make a purchase. They see your device account number instead.
  • If your Samsung Pay-enabled Samsung device is lost or stolen, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service to disable cards remotely.
  • You can also contact the Customer Service number on the back of your card to delete Barclaycards in the device.
  • When you suspend or remove your cards from Samsung Pay, only your device-specific account number is suspended or removed, and you can continue to use your plastic cards as usual, as long as you haven't deactivated them.
  • If the merchant asks you to swipe your card, swipe up from the home button or open the Samsung Pay app, select the card you paid with, verify your fingerprint and then hover your device over the card reader to complete the return.
  • For some returns, you might have to provide the last 4 digits of your device account number. You can find your device account number on the card details screen in your Samsung Pay app.
  • You will not be able to use Samsung Pay to complete the return if you used your physical card to make the purchase.
  • Samsung Pay has built-in technology that allows it to work at both contactless and most traditional payment terminals where you swipe your card, which means you can use it almost anywhere you already shop today.
  • Some merchants may assume their card reader cannot accept Samsung Pay since their reader is not enabled as a contactless (NFC) payment terminal, but because of Samsung Pay's unique technology, it works almost anywhere you can swipe your card or tap to pay.
